THE PUG

A down-on-his-luck boxer who sacrificed his career for the mob and was struggling to stay in the semi-pros, The Pug was at his absolute lowest when he discovered an abandoned pug in an alley. Nursing her back to health and giving her a home, he was inspired by her strength to survive to turn things around, sober up, straighten out, and get back to training. Once again becoming the formidable fighter he once was, the mob approached him to throw his next fight, which he refused with his new outlook giving him the confidence he needed to do the right thing for himself. Coming out on top in the match, he celebrated his win only to return home to find the mob waiting for him. Mocking him for being a pug with a pug, he responded with concern for her life which showed that he cared more about the dog than he did for himself. With this realization, they killed her to send a message, leaving him unconscious in his apartment. Coming to, he vowed revenge, coming after the mob and bringing their hold on the city crashing down, maintaining that they'll never push anyone around ever again. To do this, and to inspire others to stand up, he embraced what he'd always been and what inspired him to turn his life around: The Pug.
After decades of trailblazing Halcyon City's underworld, The Pug has since revealed his identity to the public, becoming a life coach with self-help books, and starting a gym for underprivileged youths in his old neighborhood. <>
